Captain Emilio Carranza Rodríguez ( The Mexican Lindbergh) crashed here in 1928. There is a memorial here to reference it. Some say it's haunted and being a ghost hunter I agree. You just get that feeling....
It's an okay hike. The road leading to the trail has many pot holes and hidden speed bumps. Memorial is okay. The to the tower is mostly flat. The tower was fenced off.
This is am amazing place to visit it's quiet and not people are around trails around that area are beautiful
Nicely done memorial (though aging and fading) and a great story, if a sad ending. Large parking lot makes for a good trailhead. No bathrooms, water, or other services available.
Nice little memorial, in the middle of no where. Also, good marker for a 9 mile round trip hike to the look out tower.
